Advanced climbing and Mountaineering courses



Our advanced courses are aimed at those who wish to further their climbing and mountaineering skills and knowledge and who may wish to explore the more adventurous multi-pitch climbing.



Performance climbing

We concentrate on the following:

> Improving performance both indoors and outside
> Energy conservation and climbing efficiency
> Clipping and placing gear with economy
> How to climb on different terrain: cracks, slabs and overhangs as well as different rock types
> Training; we can design a program to get you climbing better and harder

Ideally, we would start with a simple climbing session, discuss your needs and work from there.

> Accommodation is not included but can be arranged



Multi-pitch climbing

There is such a wealth of multi-pitch climbing in the UK it is difficult to chose a location: Bristol, Devon and Cornish coast or the mountain ranges of Snowdonia and The Lake District.

A 4 day course enables us to take our time and really enjoy the climbing whilst learning a vast array of new techniques including:

> Advanced belaying
> Twin ropes and their management
> Route finding
> Retreating
> Equipment
> Knots

Previous climbing experience is required.

> 4 days. Can be split over 2 sessions

> Accommodation is not included but can be arranged



Mountaineering skills

This is for those who are heading further afield and want to learn or brush up on the necessary techniques when climbing mountains.

The course is tailor made to each group, whether you intend to climb Mt Blanc, Mera Peak or Everest.

We can cover:

> Self rescue.
> Crevasse rescue.
> The use of a Jumar for ascending fixed ropes.
> Techniques for multiple abseils and retreats.


Previous climbing experience is not required.

> Cost 1-4 people £140 per group per day. 5-6 people £35 each
